Last fall, CBS announced it was going to air a miniseries, "The Reagans" on broadcast television. The miniseries is a hatchet-job on President Reagan and his wife Nancy. Their reputations are smeared by a collection of Hollywood liberal screenwriters and actors who concoct false events and statements in a desperate attempt to redefine the Reagan Legacy.

What's worse, these leftist activists have the poor taste to assail the Reagans even as President Reagan battles bravely against the ravages of Alzheimers - with his wife Nancy loyally by his side.

We could not just sit back and do nothing. We could not allow the liberal media to continue their "re-education" campaign whereby young people who were not around to experience the great achievements of Ronald Reagan are denied the opportunity to know the truth about this great man.

The Defend Reagan Project encouraged people to contact CBS/Viacom and voice their outrage and make a contribution to help pay for newspaper ads calling for a boycott of the miniseries on CBS or Showtime Cable.

CBS backed down and pulled the miniseries off of broadcast television. However, Viacom did air it on Showtime cable. Your diligence in getting the message to CBS and Viacom had an impact. Our ads helped to preserve the record on the accomplishments and the greatness of President Ronald Wilson Reagan.
